An Early Script of The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz came before the Broadway show Wicked but this movie is such a classic even for the baby boomer time period and for today. The screenwriter based the movie on a 1900 novel for children called The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I chose this site because I really like this movie and appreciate how it starts in black and white and then it includes technicolor which many movies of this time did not have. People should visit this site because it includes history of how this movie started and it has the ruby red slippers Judy Garland wore in the movie and it is also displayed in a museum in Washington. It also compares and contrast the book with the movie but overall this is an incredible site that offers some great information about this movie and how it started. Although the Broadway show Wicked is based on the two witches the movie is based on Dorothy and she has a journey to see the wizard. But the only similarity between the two are the witches- Glinda and the Wicked witch of the West but this article explains them in more detail.
